Mazda Motor Corp. has yet another worthy award from London to be proud of. Recently, its Mazda6 Estate bagged the ' the Towcar of the Year' award for the year 2007. Said award has been given to Mazda6 for three consecutive years now.
According to the judges of said prestigious car competition, 'The Mazda6 gets on with the job." The results were proclaimed at The Caravan Club's annual awards ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club in London last September 26. Judges in the '16,501 to '20,000 Class further noted, 'It made a mighty fine job of towing with faultless stability, one of the best handbrakes in this year's Competition and a gearbox with six well-chosen ratios and a nice action that makes you want to make the most of them. Judges concluded, "A sensible shape, with plenty of carrying capacity and a decent noseweight limit makes this a great towcar.'
A total of 42 cars were tested rigorously through varying paces in a span of 4 days. The mechanics in judging include handling, stability, braking, acceleration and Its reaction when hitched.

According to Mark Cameron, Marketing Director for Mazda UK, 'Whether you are towing a caravan to a motorsport event, a horse box to the county show, or a jet ski trailer to the beach, the Mazda6 Estate has proved over the past three years of awards from The Caravan Club Towcar of the Year that it consistently rates highly thanks to its flexibility, dynamic handling and great engine.'
Mazda6, also called Mazda Atenza, is a midsize car that replaced Capella/626. It is deemed as the fastest Mazda vehicle to make it to the one million mark. In September last year, Mazda6 performance parts were enhanced and the model received a makeover. Said makeover resulted to the redesign of Mazda6 alloy wheels and minor modifications to its bodywork. The engines were also optimized to improve power and fuel-efficiency of the car.
The entry vehicle to this year's competition was Mazda6 Diesel Estate TS2 2.0 litre 143ps Manual. It is priced at '19,250 on-the-road.
