I dont believe Network Marketing the traditional way, which is, talking to friends, family and complete strangers, is for everybody. Im not saying it doesnt work, of course it works, one of my friends personally recruited over 300 people, it just doesnt work for everyone. But, with the dawn of the internet, I now believe, Network Marketing is for anyone and everyone. My prospects would say Linden, Im not interested, then I would spend hours trying to answer all their objections, only to finally get the rejection rocket! Now, I spend NO time with the prospects who arent interested in my opportunity. If it wasnt for the internet, I dont think I would be networking today, but I am and I LOVE IT! Now I try and Work Smart! Because of the internet I have continued on my MLM journey. Traditionally, when you join an MLM company, your upline would tell you, Now go and make your list of as many names as you can, family, friends, work colleagues and any body else you can think of. Or they will recommend buying leads and cold call them. Then they say Now when you talk to them, dont spend to long explaining, stir some interest in the opportunity, tell them youve got something that is so incredible, but you havent got time to explain because youre to busy, then give them this DVD,Video,Flier,Audio and tell the prospect youll contact them back in 24/48 hours. When you call them back you say, What part of the, DVD, Video, Flier, Audio did you like best? Your upline would then say, its as easy as that, now sign them up! Well I can tell you now, I wasnt very good at this method. Enter the internet, with millions of people world wide actually looking for business opportunities, tap into this market and forget all about the rejection rocket. Believe it or not, I still recruit the traditional way, as for the rejection rocket, I now see it coming before they launch it! I guess over the years I have improved my people communication skills, but without the internet I think I would have thrown the towel in long ago. Is this an attack on traditional Network Marketing? Absolutely not! Multi Level Marketing, traditional or online is one of the few businesses where anyone can succeed and for millions of people it is the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Unfortunately, without the correct guidance, the end of the very dark tunnel can get a heck of a lot darker. |
