Curtains

There are a number of options available for dressing your windows. Earlier your choice was limited to drapes or fabrics. Today, you can choose from sheers, drapes, blinds, beads, bamboo, lace, valances, etc, depending the style of your choice and the function you want the curtains to serve. You can be as creative as you want to make your curtains a design feature in that room that suits the dcor as well.

Window curtains are an important feature in your house as they protect the insides of your home. They give you your privacy and also block the harsh rays of the sun. They help control the temperature inside the room. They block draughts of air from blowing in. They also protect your furniture from UV light.

Windows can add to the aesthetic value of your room. In fact you can completely spoil the tasteful decoration of your room by choosing the wrong curtains. You could continue with the room's color scheme or vary it with a slight contrast. If you are using fabric curtains, you can either match it with the upholstery or provide a contrast to the upholstery. If you have designed and decorated your room in a particular theme, it's best to choose a curtain that will complement it. For instance, if you have a country style dining room, a light fabric curtain would work best and a bamboo curtain would completely spoil the look. Similarly, if your pre-teen daughter's room doesn't get too much direct sunlight, you could add a lot of color and spunk to the room by using beaded curtains.
