Wealthy Nations, World Citizens and NGOs Only Give When It Is Popular

Many folks watching current events have observed that after a major event, world crisis or Natural Disaster many people, governments, organizations and wealthy elite give. But only if it is popular, when they can get publicity or when it is news worthy. This was recently discussed in an online think tank, when one thinker stated;

People tend to assume that environmental consequences are a result of things, a default arising due to a change in the nature of events, its believed to be a phase that captures various minds and thoughts for a stipulated period and its urgency evaporates in no time. For eg; the Tsunami was an environmental hazard that ruined and touched the lives of millions, but concern was more over who helped whom and how

You seem to be looking a gift horse in the mouth; shame on you for your linear thinking. You see Corporations and People do not have to give. They give for personal motivations or public relations or a multitude of reasons. Rather than focusing on why they give. Why not just say thank you? And I say to this issue, at least they gave money, assistance and collected volunteers.

If we really want to finish the job as you state and set up an environmental roadmap for the future there, then too, we would need to get monies, assistance and volunteers as well. That is not easy at all. Perhaps we should rethink the complaint, offer this as a Trueism and Given and then move onto the solution without condemnation of those who give or question their motivation or sincerity you see?
