Every Time President Bush Travels the Democrats Attack Him While Away

Have you noticed that every single time that the president of the United States leaves on a trip for diplomacy abroad or traveling the nation that the Democrats immediately cause the non-event controversy, thus cutting his visits short. This is indeed a travesty for all of America and all Americans, because part of the job of the president of the United States is to promote this great nation.

In preventing our leader from promoting those things that are essential to peace both foreign and domestic and new concepts that could better our nation, we the people in the end are the real losers. As the president of the United States travels he is not in Washington D.C. to defend himself of the accusations, falsehoods and often mean-spirited and baseless attacks. Instead, his advisers who were not in contact with him directly at the time must defend his actions involving the particular controversy, which is nearly impossible as how can anyone prove they did not kick their dog, especially when the attackers and accusers fail to identify which dog was kicked and where.

When the controversy involves nothing-ness and made up claims of impropriety there is little the president can do except return back to Washington to defend himself or attempt to defend himself while on the road without all the information of who is attacking, what the attacks are about or why on earth they were made a first-place. Let's take as a perfect example the Dubai UAE port deal and the controversy surrounding it.

The first claims said that a company that was partly owned by the UAE government was buying up six major U.S. ports. Later we find out if they are only purchasing the British firms operations, which involve the running of port operations and have nothing to do with the security of the ports. Of course such a claim, a false claim cut short the president's visit to Boulder CO, Wisconsin and destinations in the Upper Midwest, where he was promoting alternative energy and alternative fuels for automobiles, trucks and our SUVs.

In cutting his visits short we are all hurt as Americans because when the president talks of such things American free enterprise opens its wallets to invest in the future of these new technologies. So, as someone had an ax to grind and wanted to hurt the president's political standing, they inadvertently or perhaps purposely hurt our nation and forward momentum of our efforts to kick the habit and addiction to foreign oil.

At this point may I please ask, who does it serve when our president is attacked every time he leaves Washington D.C. to get away from the corrupt politics. If we are to progress as a nation, we must stand by our leadership listen to what they say and not be so quick to judge every single time the opposition throws a bone to the mass media hysteria. Consider this in 2006.
